While attending a bluegrass festival earlier this summer, we came upon this adorable custom-made and custom-painted Gypsy "Vardo" Wagon! The owners (also the builders) were happy to give us a tour... (read more)
We've just returned to our cabin from a week-long, relaxing and fun camping retreat with a bunch of our music-loving friends! So much fun, and a great way to connect with nature, get some good quality face-to-face time, be creative, play music, enjoy the sun and then the glow of a campfire and music/stories against the darkness, and just let go of the stress and details of day to day life. These are all things that we have tried to become more mindful of – in addition to eating well – as we pursue better health...(read more)
We finally got a break in the weather this past weekend, and we took full advantage of a beautiful, cool and dry day to move the woodshed build forward! We've got a...(read more)

One of our most satisfying strategies in adopting a whole foods diet has been growing our own! Having tasty, fresh food waiting to be harvested just outside the back door makes it easier to stay on track and enjoy maximum "just picked" nutrition with our meals...(read more)

Here's a favorite low-carb and grain-free quiche/egg bake recipe that we're enjoying quite often these days, paired with fresh-picked salad greens, and cherry tomatoes when we have them. So good, and so easy!

Happy Summer everyone, and a BIG welcome to new followers coming over from the Keto Cabin site! It’s grilling season! Here’s a great marinade that can be used on all kinds of meat (and fish as well)!
Spring has most definitely sprung here at our cabin!
It's finally gardening season here at the cabin! Here's a great springtime project documented here last spring... Don't have room for a traditional garden? Want to conserve water? Away from home often? Try a sub-irrigated planter! Sub irrigated planters have a water reservoir beneath the soil level that is fed from the top, using a …

Whew! What a night. Another Nor'easter ripped through here overnight, complete with thundersnow! The snow was wet and heavy, and we lost a number of trees and branches. Luckily only one very small tree on our little cabin. It is times like these that I am especially happy to be sheltered under a timberframe! We're …
Spring is coming! It's maple sugaring season here in New England. I captured this Sugar Shack image in Plainfield, Vermont. Sugaring sure takes a lot of firewood!
