Hello and thanks for stopping by! We finally got a break in the weather this past weekend, and we took full advantage of a beautiful, cool and dry day to move the woodshed build forward! We’ve got a good foundation completed and we’re ready to start framing the walls.
We have become well acquainted with a few new power tools: The chop saw, nail gun and reciprocating saw all saw a lot of use and helped us to get to this point quickly!
Since we are building into the hill, we have had to get a bit creative with our plan. We’ve got two levels and there will be three stairs in the center section. A simple, corrugated shed roof will pitch towards the back of the structure, and we will be intstalling a gutter there, as well as a drainage ditch/pipe behind the shed to funnel water runoff towards a nearby garden.
We have made a pretty good dent in our former goat shed supplies, and I love the look of the various recycled materials coming together in their repurposed form!
The heatwave is back this week, but stay tuned – we’ll be back at this project soon. We’ve got to get this woodshed finished so that we can move on to filling it with the 4 cords of wood we’ll need for heat this winter!
Enjoy your weekend! Got any building projects planned? If so, we’d love to hear about what you’re up to.
